
This 2-day immersive event will feature The Art of Coaching’s “The Apprenticeship™”, led by Brett Bartholomew, author of Conscious Coaching: The Art and Science of Building Buy-In.
Communication is a developed skill and truly the foundation of any successful leader. This workshop is geared toward all Sports RDs looking to improve communication skills, learn strategies to build and cultivate relationships, and elevate their leadership role to the next level. The Apprenticeship™ is a highly interactive workshop that will provide the skills necessary to communicate effectively and adapt to an ever-changing world. Attendees will participate in real-life role-playing scenarios that are applicable to various settings within the field of sports nutrition. You will leave with an improved ability to adapt on the fly, make critical decisions during times of uncertainty, and improved self-awareness within challenging situations. If you want to learn strategies to fine tune this skill and elevate yourself to the next level, the 2023 UpwaRD Workshop is the perfect experience for you.

Who should apply?
This workshop is geared toward all Sports RDs looking to improve communication skills, learn strategies to build and cultivate relationships, and elevate their leadership role to the next level.. The UpwaRD Workshop is limited to no more than 20 attendees each year.
When is it?
Dates for the 2024 UpwaRD Workshop will be announced in early March, 2024.
Application Process:
Applications for this event will open in early march 2024. Selected individuals will be notified in early April.
What is the cost?
The workshop has a $300 registration fee that is inclusive of workshop materials, a 2 day intensive and interactive training, dinner Sunday evening, lunch on Monday and Tuesday. If the cost of registration is a financial barrier, consider applying for CPSDA's Professional Development Scholarship.
About Brett Bartholomew:
Brett Bartholomew is a performance coach, best-selling author, keynote speaker, and host of a top-ranked podcast.
After nearly losing his life as a teenager, in part due to poor medical care, Brett founded the leadership development company Art of Coaching™ which focuses on the unique role optimized communication plays within organizations and elite teams.

He is also a member of the Alumni Advisory board for Kansas State University and was awarded their “Alumni Entrepreneur Award” in 2017 for his contributions to community affairs, organizations, and service groups and support K-State’s College of Human Ecology.
Brett is currently conducting his doctoral research focused on the role of power dynamics, persuasion, and optimizing change management within organizations at the University of Central Lancashire. He resides in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and son.
